Many of our patients come to us wanting a more comfortable, permanent solution to partial or full dentures, but have not heard of All-on-4 treatment. Loose Denture Care
After losing a tooth the surrounding bone and tissue can begin to shrink, this is known as resorption. Poor-fitting dentures can be fixed depending on the amount of remaining bone and tissue plus the condition of the current dentures. Even with good denture care, including removal at night, everyday wear and tear can lead to the need for a brand new set.
Options for loose dentures
Relining
By taking an impression whilst in the dental chair, we use a specialised material to fill any voids. This process is known as a reline and is a short-term solution.
Dental Implants
A long-term solution that offers increased stability to gums experiencing bone resorption. Many patients find the investment of an implant outweighs the ongoing maintenance and discomfort that an ill-fitting denture can cause. Sometimes you can keep your old dentures but improve the fit with one or more implants for anchorage, other times a completely new set may suit you best.
